The Statistical Office in Poznań presents the 15th edition of the annual review of the socio-economic situation of gminas, powiats and subregions in Wielkopolskie Voivodship. This year’s edition provides a picture of the voivodship in 2013, which results from a quantitative description of its territorial units. Published along with the Statistical Yearbook of the Wielkopolskie Voivodship 2014, it can be regarded as its supplement and extension.

In terms of structure and content, the current edition does not differ much from the previous edition. What has changed is the presentation format of data on regional accounts, which, for the first time, have been compiled according to the principles of the European System of National and Regional Accounts 2010, adopted in the form a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council in 2013 on the European system of national and regional accounts.

The publication begins with review tables with selected statistics about the voivodship in 2000 and 2005 and in a time series from 2008 to 2013, providing information about the ranking of powiats and subregions in terms of selected variables. The tables facilitate comparisons between territorial units and against average values for the whole voivodship in 2005 and 2013.

The main part of the abstract consists of thematic tables, grouped into 16 chapters, showing the spatial dimension of current statistics in the most comprehensive manner. Each group of thematic tables is preceded by general notes explaining the terminology, methodology and the scope of information and supplemented by a graphic illustration of phenomena and observed patterns.
