The Statistical Office in Poznań presents the new edition of the Report on the socio-economic situation of Wielkopolskie Voivodship, which includes a wide range of the latest statistics about the level of development of our voivodship in the areas of environment, society, economy and local government.

In addition, for the first time the report contains an annex with selected information about Areas of Strategic Intervention (ASI) defined in the National Strategy for Regional Development 2030 as areas (gminas) at risk of permanent marginalisation and towns in the process of losing their socio-economic functions, which can benefit from special instruments of developmental support.

A wide selection of data about functional areas (including ASI) can also be found in the dedicated section called “Functional areas” in the Local Data Bank (at https://bdl.stat.gov.pl/bdl/obszary) and in another publication released by Statistics Poland entitled Regional development of Poland – analytical report 2024.

The topics in this Report are presented based on data covering a period since 2015, enabling readers to observe the intensity and directions of the changes that have taken place. Moreover, to provide a broader context for analysis and evaluation, selected statistical data are also compared with corresponding figures for the country and the other voivodships. The analytical commentary is accompanied by statistical tables, charts and choropleth maps, which help to capture spatial relationships between statistical information.
