The electronic publication entitled Population, vital statistics and migration in Wielkopolskie Voivodship in 2011 is a periodical statistical review of the demographic situation in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship. This year’s edition is based on data from the Population and Housing Census 2011. In terms of its scope, structure and form of presentation, the publication continues the format of the previous edition. To meet the needs of statistical data users, the major part of the review, containing tabulated information, is available as MS EXCEL files to facilitate analytical applications. It comprises a wide range of information about the population structure, vital statistics, directions and intensity of migration, median age and life expectancy, women’s fertility and reproduction rates. Data is presented in territorial breakdowns, using maps to highlight the spatial variation of the phenomena of interest. Demographic events, such as births and deaths, marriages, separations and divorces are broken down by age and sex. The demographic situation of the voivodship is contrasted with figures for the whole country and other voivodships. The tabulated data section is complemented by charts illustrating selected variables, phenomena and emerging tendencies. The review concludes with a commentary containing a synthetic summary of the information presented with reference to the year 2010.
