The Statistical Office in Poznań presents the latest edition of the “Statistical Yearbook of Wielkopolskie Voivodship” – one of the most important titles in the annual publication plan. Each year the yearbook provides information about the magnitude of social changes and the level of the voivodship’s economic development. The current edition is a quantitative summary of changes observed in various areas of the socio-economic sphere in 2023.

The general structure of information in the current edition, grouped into 21 thematic sections, is the same as last year. Depending on data availability, comparable statistics are presented for 2015, 2020, 2022 and 2023. The yearbook ends with review tables containing the most relevant information about the voivodship and selected indicators, which are compared with corresponding quantities for the country as a whole.

For the first time the yearbook presents data about the latest local government elections, results of the Labour Force Survey (LFS) based on resident population statistics derived from the National
Population and Housing Census 2021 and the household budget survey based on the final results of the 2021 census. The regional accounts for 2020–2022 have been revised relative to those published previously, following the revision in the national accounts. Moreover, the current edition of the yearbook contains preliminary data about agriculture from integrated farm statistics.

Each thematic section of the yearbook mainly includes information from numerous databases of official statistics, which are sometimes supplemented by data from administrative sources.
